Asian Students Photography Exhibition was initiated by Education Forum for Asia and China Youth Daily at the 2006 Annual Conference of the Education Forum for Asia. In 2008, China University Media Union started to participate. This event is open to young students in the Asia Pacific Region and beyond. It is committed to carry forward the enormously rich Asian cultures which runs deep and long, to display the great diversity and juxtapositions of customs and traditions, the magnificent geographic and demographic appearances, to promote artistic and aesthetic exchange in photography, and to spread the unique values of Asian cultures.
Since the first grand festival in 2006, the "Asian Students Photography Exhibition" has been successfully held for five years in a row, altogether collecting up to 10,000 pieces of pictures from more than 25 countries and regions in Asia & Pacific regions and beyond such as China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Japan, Vietnam, Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia , India, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Great Britain and the United States. More than 157 winning pictures were? selected.
Former Chinese State Councilor Madam Chen Zhili, China's former Minister of Education Zhou Ji, former Philippine President Fidel Ramos, former Nepalese Prime Minister Bista, former Secretary general of the Boao Forum for Asia Long Yongtu, Tajikistan ambassador to China H.E. Mr.Alimov etc. ever participated in the Awarding Ceromony,and presented prizes to winning students both from China and abroad.
After fvie years of efforts, and with the support and care of friends from all walks of life, "Asian Students Photography Exhibition" has grown enoursly in both? importance and popularity among young people in the region. It’s now become a platform for young students to share ideas, show talents and foster relationships.
To further grow the "Asian Students Photography Exhibition" to improve understanding and friendship among young generation across borders and clutures, the three organizers, the Education Forum for Asia,China Youth Dail,China University Media Union now offically commence this year’s event. We are working together to build an Asia of more harmony and prosperity.
